Once a military base, it has been transformed into a public park with art installations, historic forts, open green spaces, and stunning views of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline. The island is car-free, creating a remarkably peaceful atmosphere despite its proximity to the city.
Take the ferry from the Battery Maritime Building in Lower Manhattan (near Whitehall Street station) or from Brooklyn Bridge Park/Pier 6. The ferry ride is approximately 7 minutes. Collective can help coordinate group ferry logistics and luggage transport.
