It started at my parents' table.
My parents ran a restaurant. I grew up watching strangers sit down as strangers and leave as friends, and I never stopped believing that a good table can change how people feel about each other. That belief followed me everywhere: onto the slopes as a competitive skier, into the 500-person events I ran in Valencia, and into the trips Thomas and I organized for our friends in college.
Then I became an engineer. I moved to the United States in 2016, joined IBM as an artificial intelligence researcher, published at NeurIPS, and worked on drug discovery at Proxima. Good work, but every time I planned a trip for friends I felt more alive than in any lab. So in 2021 Thomas and I built TeamOut: the table I grew up at, for companies. Three thousand events later, I still get the same feeling.
